UPDATED May 1, 2025
Get ready to make a serious splash, because SURF’S UP at Disney World’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park!
Typhoon Lagoon is one of two water parks at Walt Disney World Resort. (The other is Disney’s Blizzard Beach.)
We’re here to explore all that’s in store for YOUR day at Typhoon Lagoon!
The Story of Typhoon Lagoon
You’ll discover the story behind Typhoon Lagoon presented in a series of signs as you drive (or ride, by Disney bus transportation) towards the parking lot and bus stops: “A furious storm once roared ‘cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon.”
One of those ships was the Miss Tilly, a shipwrecked shrimp boat that guests can still see to this day high atop Mount Mayday, providing a themed focal point for the whole park.
But now? “The storm is over, the coast is clear…”
… So come and see the view from HERE!”

Water Coaster
Yes, you CAN ride a coaster in a water park! Okay, more specifically, you can ride a water coaster: winding and splashing through 3 chutes on the 400-foot-long tube slide that is the Crush ‘N’ Gusher.
