Can’t make it to Disney World to participate in a runDisney race (or just looking to log in some extra magical miles)? runDisney hosts several Virtual Run Series during the year!

runDisney Summer Virtual Series

The 2025 runDisney Summer Virtual Series is coming back from June 1, 2025 – August 31, 2025.Virtual Series participants complete a 5K of their choice (from three events) at home on their own schedule and receive a medal for their efforts. Participants who complete all three 5Ks receive an additional series completion medal! This year runDisney is celebrating 10 years of offering virtual races with 4 themes inspired by the parks, and the races culminate in the Disney Happily Ever After Virtual Challenge!

Registration for the 2025 runDisney Virtual Series opened on April 1st, 2025 at 10AM on runDisney.com. 

In addition to finisher medals for each individual race (and an additional medal and keepsake for participants who complete all three 5K races as part of the Happily Ever After Challenge), participants receive:

• Downloads for a themed bib and finisher certificate
• Downloads for an at-home themed kit that includes a start line, finish line and mile markers

Remember: Participants must register for the runDisney Virtual Challenge to be eligible for the Challenge medal.

The themed distances for each race are as follows:

Virtual 5K: Disney Pirates of the Caribbean®

“Pillage and plunder (or run, jog or walk) your way through 3.1 miles of swashbuckling fun.”

Virtual 5K: Jungle Cruise®

“If the wacky and wonderful floats your boat, chart a 3.1-mile course of high adventure.”

Price: $58.00

Virtual 5K: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad®

“Enjoy 3.1 miles of the wildest race in the wilderness!”

Price: $58.00

Virtual Challenge: Disney Happily Ever After

“Finish all three races for a total of 9.3 miles and receive a fourth Challenge medal themed to the nighttime fireworks extravaganza in Magic Kingdom® Park.”

Price: $180.00 (This includes all three races above and the Disney Happily Ever After Challenge medal)

runDisney Virtual Love on the Run 14-Miler

A NEW virtual run series is currently making its debut from February 1st – April 7th, 2025: the Love on the Run 14-Miler combines THREE virtual races (a 2-miler, 5-miler and 7-miler to total 14 miles) and celebrates love and friendship featuring “Disney and Pixar duos.” 

In addition to finisher medals for each individual race (and an additional Challenge medal AND an embroidered blanket and a magnet), participants receive:

• Downloads for a themed bib and finisher certificate
• Downloads for an at-home themed kit that includes a start line, finish line and mile markers

Registration is NOW OPEN on rundisney.com. The cost to participate is $187.00.

“Let’s hear it for girl power! Because during the runDisney Virtual Love on the Run 2-Miler, you can pick your own path and experience 2 miles of magic hosted by BFFs Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck.”

“Talk about a run that’s outta this world! Lace up for the runDisney Virtual Love on the Run 5-Miler where you can pick your own path and experience 5 miles of magic hosted by WALL-E and EVE.”

“Can we get a “Yeehaw?” Or maybe a “To infinity and beyond?” Because during therunDisney Virtual Love on the Run 7-Miler, you can pick your own path and experience 7 miles of magic hosted by Jessie and Buzz Lightyear.”

runDisney 12Ks of Christmas Virtual Series

For the 2023 holiday season, a virtual run series dubbed the 12Ks of Christmas made its debut, and it will run again (HA!) from December 1-31, 2025!

This race series features three 4K running events (which is 12Ks total) as a challenge — all hosted by fan-favorite Disney characters as the mascots! Participants receive themed medals (which DOUBLE as ornaments!) and MORE to commemorate your success.

Participants receive one medal per 4K, and one Challenge medal for a total of FOUR!
