UPDATED May 1, 2025
It’s time for some fun in the sun… AND in the SNOW!?! Welcome to Disney World’s Blizzard Beach Water Park!
Blizzard Beach is one of two water parks at Walt Disney World Resort. (The other is Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon.) Blizzard Beach combines all the splish-splashing fun of a water park with the setting of an Alpine-style ski resort.
We’re here to explore all that’s in store for YOUR day at Blizzard Beach!
PLEASE NOTE: Blizzard Beach is currently closed now through May 20th. Guests can visit Typhoon Lagoon in the meantime. When Blizzard Beach reopens on May 21st, 2025, BOTH water parks will remain open through September 7th, 2025.
The Story of Blizzard Beach
Once upon a time, as the story goes, a random snowstorm hit the Sunshine State, resulting in the construction of a ski resort for folks to enjoy the wintery weather.

Have an ICE Day at Blizzard Beach
With the return of typical Florida weather, of course, all the snow melted away leaving lots and lots and LOTS of WATER. And the result is Blizzard Beach!
Blizzard Beach Attractions
Waterslides
Blizzard Beach has, quite simply, some fantastically fun water slides all around the park!

Water Slides
- Downhill Double Dipper: Challenge your family member for an inner tube race down twin enclosed waterslides!
- Runoff Rapids: Three unique inner-tube slides (one fully enclosed) combine to create Runoff Rapids.
- Snow Stormers: Three waterslides also make up the Snow Stormers, but these rides are toboggan-style.
- Toboggan Racers: Three dips and hills create the thrills in this eight-lane toboggan race!
- Slush Gusher: The Slush Gusher features a fast rush down a 90-foot slide. This waterslide features two rolling hills and is perfect for those who are ready for a thrill, but not quite up to taking on the Summit Plummet. Speaking of…
- Summit Plummet: Take a twelve-story plunge down a “near vertical drop” on Blizzard Beach’s signature extreme slide!
- Teamboat Springs: Gather the whole gang for this group ride! Each oversized tube that winds down Teamboat Springs can carry up to 6 guests.
Wave Pool
Grab a tube and relax on the gentle waves or just enjoy a fun swim in Melt-Away Bay, a one-acre wave pool!

Melt-Away Bay
You can also grab a beach chair right on the shore and lounge all you like.
Chairlift
Remember: when you’re at Blizzard Beach, you’re at a ski resort… and what better way to get around than a Chairlift?!

Chairlift
The Chairlift carries guests to attractions including Summit Plummet, the Slush Gusher, and Teamboat Springs.
Lazy River
Are you looking to chill instead of thrill? Well, then, a lazy river ride around Cross Country Creek might be exactly what the doctor ordered.

Ski Patrol Training Camp offers fun-filled obstacles and extra splashes for “future ski patrollers!”
Tike’s Peak is a dedicated area of scaled-down slides for children and preschoolers under 48 inches tall.

Tike’s Peak
In 2022, the area received a Frozen-themed makeover!

NEW Frozen-themed Tike’s Peak!
Tike’s Peaks now features Anna and Elsa’s igloo castle and Olaf and his Snowgie pals “chilling” out in the warm wading pool.
