The future of Disney World’s Reedy Creek Improvement District hangs in the air, and with the official date of dissolution drawing closer every day, many are wondering what exactly will happen with its special tax status.

Disney has taken steps to secure parts of the district’s future after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and other state legislators voted to dissolve Reedy Creek (with DeSantis’ communications director later stating, “The corporate kingdom has come to an end”.) That hasn’t fazed district leaders are continuing with their everyday tasks — discussing various changes and improvements being made on Disney World property.
Since Bob Chapek was ousted from The Walt Disney Company and Iger took over the reins as CEO once again, we’ve seen further leadership changes follow.

It’s not all that surprising that after such a major shakeup, the avalanche would only continue to roll with more executives leaving and others taking their places. And now, with the first company earnings call since Iger’s return just a short time away, more executive leadership changes could be on the way at Disney.
Disney World employs thousands of Cast Members, and many of those Cast Members are part of labor unions.

The unions and Disney have been negotiating over wage increases and healthcare for quite some time, with the latest being an offer and statement from Disney regarding a proposed increase. The current offer includes raises, retroactive back pay, and additional perks for full time cast members like a 401K. And today we have an update on how the unions plan to respond.
At the 2022 D23 Expo, we learned that Disneyland’s Paradise Pier Hotel is being re-themed to be allllll about Pixar!

Not only that, but Disney shared that the re-themed hotel will be named Pixar Place Hotel, and it will “weave the artistry of Pixar into its comfortable, contemporary setting.” We hadn’t heard many updates from Disney, but we recently stopped by to check it out for ourselves and saw some new changes!
