Super Bowl treats at Disney World
There’s a HUGE thing that happens here in the U.S. in February — the Super Bowl (Bet you thought we were going to say Valentine’s Day, right? ?). And Disney Parks will often celebrate with special snacks, events, and more. But if you’re going to be in Disneyland during Super Bowl week, ESPN is bringing football fans a TON of fun stuff!
It’s hard not to love Disney’s Animal Kingdom? It’s got tons of shade (and believe us, that is IMPORTANT), beautiful theming, and animals!

The food here is also AMAZING and you can grab some unique souvenirs (Yeti backpack anyone?) in the park that you can’t find anywhere else in Disney World. And we’ve been to Animal Kingdom very recently to see what’s been going on and what’s new. So let’s get on with the updates!

Now as the country is dealing with the Omicron variant of COVID-19, the state of Florida recently hit a milestone of over 70,000 daily reported cases. And as of now, the state has reached another COVID-19 milestone.

But there’s still a lot that’s been going on with Disney World restaurants menus this week, so let’s talk about that.

Not only can you have a drink in an alien bar, but you can also create your own lightsaber, and build your own droid. But you can also add accessories to your droid that makes it a little more human (and we’re not sure how we feel about that).

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is THE destination for Star Wars fans. Where else can they drink in an alien cantina, build their own droid, and escape the clutches of Kylo Ren!
Welcome to Savi’s Workshop
Part of the fun is Savi’s Workshop, where Star Wars fans can go to create their own custom lightsaber in an experience they’ll never forget. And if you want to customize your Savi’s lightsaber even further, you can now pick up some new custom hilts!
We may have said goodbye to 2021, but Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration is still going strong, and we’ll be celebrating through all of 2022 AND into 2023!

When the celebration first started last year, we indulged in over 100+ 50th anniversary treats and drinks, but we’re not done yet! Recently, Disney announced that some of those treats would be going away, but also told us that MORE 50th anniversary goodies were coming — and y’all know we got excited about that! So we’re trying one of those new treats RIGHT NOW!
As of January 1st, 2022, Disney World’s Magical Express went away forever. And although two services — Mears Connect and The Sunshine Flyer — are operating paid transportation services to and from Orlando International Airport and Disney World, we’re also interested in the Brightline train that will eventually connect Disney Springs to the airport.

We’ve had updates about Brightline’s planned route around Florida, as well as delays in its construction. We even have a general idea of when the construction of the line to Disney World could start. And we’ve now got an update about upcoming test runs of the train!
Since the holidays, the airlines have been hit hard by flight cancellations, with many flights being canceled due to weather.
Orlando International Airport
Although wintry weather might not affect the Orlando area or Disney World directly, it can affect those traveling from certain areas of the U.S. to and from the resort. And yesterday, many travelers were unpleasantly surprised when their flights were canceled.
