The Walt Disney Company’s financial data is closely monitored. Fans analyze earnings calls for new announcements. Investors look for ways to get a return on their investment. Soon, The Walt Disney Company will host its fiscal second quarter earnings call, where we can expect to learn about Disney’s parks division, Disney+, ESPN, and more. The financial results will be shared on May 7th, 2025.

However, ahead of both the second-quarter earnings call and the grand opening of Universal’s new theme park, Epic Universe, Disney quietly released a new page dedicated to “Disney’s Impact on the American Economy.”
The Walt Disney Company’s corporate website has a new page that showcases the company’s impact on the American economy. The page begins with a message from CEO Bob Iger. In it, Iger touches on Disney’s $30 billion theme park investment, its plan to spend over $23 billion on movie and TV production in 2025, and the “unwavering commitment to being a force for good in the world.”

The page focuses on Disney’s domestic spending and contributions to the U.S. economy. Disney boasts, “From entertainment and travel to consumer products and sports, we employ 160,000 people in all 50 states.” Moreover, Disney has promised to add approximately 10,000 new jobs in Florida and California as the company moves forward with its $30 billion investment.

Notably, the page did not detail a timeline for Disney’s $30 billion investment, nor did it mention any specific additions or expansions in the theme parks. In the past, Disney has stated that it plans to invest $60 billion in the Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products segment of the company over the next decade.

Back in 2023, Disney also shared a report that indicated the company owns more than 1000 acres of land for future developments at the theme parks. The land is spread across various sites, but the available land is approximately the size of seven new Disneyland Parks.

We expect Disney to highlight its theme park investment goals in the upcoming earnings call. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
