Let’s face it — not all Disney World hotels are created equal.
Disney World has three main hotel tiers — value, moderate, and deluxe — and each one has its own set of perks. Obviously, as the cost gets higher, the perks tend to get better…and that includes transportation! Recently Madeleine, an editor here at DFB, stayed at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort and discovered her new favorite hack for getting to the theme parks faster and we’re sharing it with you today!
First things first, if you’re planning a Disney World vacation soon, we’ve got the ultimate hack for you! Not only can you get our insider tips delivered to your inbox above, but we highly recommend reaching out to our friends over at Small World Vacations! Disney World hotels now cost a small fortune for many fans, but the three All-Star Resorts tend to be the cheapest. Each resort area (split between Movies, Music, and Sports themes) is neighboring the other and that definitely came in handy on Madeleine’s trip!
First of all, just look at how close the All-Stars are to each other. That makes it handy to visit the others, but that also means they share bus transportation.
Madeleine stayed in a room in the Mighty Ducks section of All-Star Movies. That’s the northernmost part of that hotel…and awfully far from the bus station. But, guess how CLOSE those rooms are to the All-Star Music bus station?! Hold up, we’ll zoom in.
Although it’s not on a traditional Disney path, all it takes is a quick walk through the parking lot. After all, they share a bus anyway, so might as well take the most convenient path! Of course, be careful of cars driving like you would in any other parking lot, but we found this to be way easier and save us a lot of time on our trip.
The All-Star Resorts aren’t the only Disney World hotels that are spread out and require a decent walk to reach your room! Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Port Orleans — Riverside are both notorious for this. The difference is these resorts have multiple bus stops at that one hotel.
No matter which hotel you choose, we highly recommend checking the closest bus stop to your room as soon as you check in and get settled. It might be a different one than you think! Our favorite way to do this is through the My Disney Experience app.
Disney World already requires you to walk SO many steps each day through the parks, so don’t walk any more than you have to! We want to hear from you if you’ve ever “cheated” the system like this before! In the meantime, keep following DFB for more Disney World tips!

We’ve been doing the short walk from All Star movies & the Ducks area to All Star Music for years, any thing to save a little leg work!
We stayed at CBR last year and had what seemed like the worst room we could have, second floor and super far from all the resorts amenities. After getting settled we realized we were right next to the Riviera Skyliner station and and resort. We did all of our out of the park quick service and use their bus station saving us from CBR’s infamous bus loop.
