A lounge INSIDE Spaceship Earth?! Yep, this is happening, and for some reason, Disney adults aren’t making nearly enough noise about it.

EPCOT has been undergoing a MASSIVE transformation over the past few years, with new attractions, lands, and experiences bringing fresh life into the park. But one of the most intriguing – and surprisingly under-discussed – additions is the brand-new Spaceship Earth Lounge. Set to open in late spring 2025, this sleek and stylish space is about to become one of the most unique spots in all of EPCOT.
So why is this such a big deal? And why aren’t Disney adults freaking out about it? Let’s get into it.
A Secret Spot Inside an Icon
Spaceship Earth isn’t just an attraction – it’s the symbol of EPCOT. Since the park’s opening in 1982, this giant geodesic sphere has been the centerpiece of the entire park. It’s where you start your journey into EPCOT and where countless visitors have experienced the ride that takes them through the history of human communication. But what many guests don’t realize is that Spaceship Earth has been hiding a secret: a lounge space that, until now, has been off-limits to the general public.

This lounge space was previously used as a corporate sponsor lounge, meaning only select guests ever had access to it. Now, for the first time, Disney is opening it up to everyday parkgoers. And that alone is HUGE.
A Luxurious, Futuristic Hideaway
Let’s talk about the design. Disney is going all-in on the theme for this new lounge, and it’s not just a generic space. Inspired by the geometric patterns of Spaceship Earth itself, the lounge will feature warm metallic tones, rich textures, and a futuristic, “zen-like” ambiance. Basically, it’s designed to feel like a sleek, intimate retreat right in the heart of EPCOT.

We’re already picturing it: a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of the park, with soft lighting, cozy seating, and an atmosphere that pays tribute to the very essence of EPCOT’s design and history. If you’ve ever wished for a calm, aesthetically pleasing place to take a break from the Florida heat and crowds, this might just be your new go-to spot.
Culinary Creation? Yes, Please!
Disney has also teased that the lounge will feature “delicious culinary creations” specially designed for the location.

Will this be a quick-service-style spot with light bites? Will it have signature drinks exclusive to this location? We don’t have the full menu yet, but knowing Disney, they’ll make sure this lounge offers something you can’t get anywhere else in the park.
Why Isn’t Everyone Talking About This?!
A brand-new lounge inside Spaceship Earth should be THE talk of the Disney community right now, but maybe it’s because EPCOT has seen so many updates lately that this one got lost in the shuffle. Or maybe people just don’t realize how rare it is for Disney to open up a previously off-limits space inside such an iconic attraction.

Sounds very inviting, but wonder how calm and relaxing it will be with rambunctious kids running around.
We’re very excited about it, and we’re hoping that it’s more like the Space 220 lounge – spacious, cool, accepts reservations – than something like Oga’s. Maybe people aren’t hyped up about it because there’s been so many downsides to the things that were supposed to be new and exciting at WDW in recent years. We’re losing a lot for the new things that we’re getting in many cases. And Disney has done, and is planning, a lot of things that are a swing and a miss in many people’s eyes already, so it can be hard to get your hopes up. Disney’s high-end perk and cost focus is probably making a lot of people wonder when, if ever, their next Disney trip will be, if they’re not turned off Disney trips altogether. A spot like Spaceship Earth Lounge is going to have the most appeal to people who really love Spaceship Earth, and those are the loyal, long time fans whom Disney seems to care nothing about anymore. We’re very excited, and we are planning to visit – but I get why there aren’t a lot of people who are.
