Disney World is a busy place!

Magic Kingdom
Animal Kingdom is going through some major changes right now, Muppets Courtyard is headed for its final days, and Hollywood Studios has two new shows headed to the stage this year. There’s a lot going down right now but it seems like Magic Kingdom was struggling a bit last night.
During the evening, Magic Kingdom seemed to experience a power outage that impacted multiple rides on February 10th, 2025. This power outage impacted entire lands like Frontierland and almost all of Fantasyland.

The only attractions that were open at one point were Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, the PeopleMover, Haunted Mansion, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Jungle Cruise, and TRON Lightcycle / Run. Meet and Greets like Mickey Mouse at Town Square Theater and Princess Fairytale Hall also remained open.

Social media users referred to the evening as “madness” at one point before several of the rides began to reopen. Magic Kingdom was also hosting an After Hours Event last night that did continue as planned. According to Newsweek, Cast members were reportedly not letting guests join the queues of closed attractions, but if you were already in line when the attraction shut down, you were allowed to stay until it reopened.

By 10 PM EST, only Space Mountain, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and “it’s a small world” were still closed. At the time of writing, Disney has not commented on the closures and it’s unknown what caused the outages. We have seen Disney have tough days but this was even more surprising than usual!

The After Hours event ran from 10 PM until 1 AM! If you haven’t ever been to an After Hours event, it’s a separately ticketed event that allows guests to hang out in the parks after the normal park hours. For the Magic Kingdom event, guests can watch a special showing of Enchantment, the former fireworks show in this park. You also get unlimited amounts of popcorn, select bottled soda, and ice cream.

It isn’t unusual for rides to temporarily go down during a Disney park day, however this many at once is notable! If you see a ride go down during your Disney park day, don’t worry! If they are able to get the ride reopened during park hours, they will. Don’t forget to keep following DFB for more Disney news and updates.

Read a thread somewhere where a CM that was working MK that night mentioned that some central air pressure system went down – and a bunch of the attractions are attached to/supported by it. When that goes down, so goes down most of MK.
