Wrapped with Love is offering three food dishes and one drink option this year. Let’s take a look at what you can get at this food booth!

Wrapped with Love made its debut at the 2023 Lunar New Year Celebration, and this year, the booth is offering some new eats which we can’t wait to try and a new souvenir!

This year, the booth features two new snacks — Phở Dip and a Mandarin Orange Cream Puff. We’re super excited to try them both!

Eats

Let’s dive into the food! We started off with the new items available this year. First, we tried the Phở Dip with rice noodles, sliced beef, shaved jalapeños, pickled onions, and Phở broth. You can get this dish for $9.50. This was a good little sandwich! The Pho broth did absolutely nothing for it though, and after 1 bite, we ate the rest without it. There’s mayo on the sandwich, which offers a great taste and the pickled onions are what made this sandwich as good as it was! The meat was tender and the rice noodles offered a great texture with the rest of the ingredients.

Next, we grabbed the Mandarin Orange Cream Puff filled with citrus cream and Mandarin compote for $8.50. We had such high hopes for this one, but we weren’t fans at all. It smells amazing and cuts very easily, but when we bit into it, the textures were off. The Mandarin compote was gritty and the dough was grainy. While the citrus cream was great, the rest was not.

The Wrapped with Love food booth also has some returning items, including the Fried Lemongrass Chicken Dumpling with plum sauce for $9.00. We grabbed these dumplings last year and thought the chicken had an odd artificial lemon flavor that reminded us of lemon cleaning supplies. Not exactly the flavor you want to taste when you are enjoying a dumpling. The outside texture was also much harder than we were hoping. It tasted like a plastic coating instead of a fried dumpling. Overall, we were not very impressed with these dumplings.

Now, let’s take a look at the drink you can get at Wrapped with Love!

Drinks

As well you can also get a Taro Vietnamese-style Iced Coffee, which is Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co. Vietnamese-style Coffee, cocoa powder, and condensed milk garnished with taro-chocolate sweet cream. This drink is non-alcoholic and costs $7.25. This drink was located at Bamboo Blessings last year but has moved to Wrapped with Love this year. 

Taro Vietnamese-Style Iced Coffee

We really enjoyed this drink when we had it last year! The taro cold foam is sweet and pairs perfectly with the bitter coffee. The cocoa powder adds a rich chocolate taste that compliments all the other flavors really well! Not only does it look really fun, but it also tastes great.

Overall

Overall, there are a few winners at this booth, but you’ll really want to read the descriptions of each item carefully to know what you’re getting. If you’re sensitive to textures, we’d recommend using caution here since many of them may throw you off, but we do highly recommend the Taro Vietnamese-style Iced Coffee if you’re into coffee drinks and the Pho Dip if you’re looking for a savory sandwich.
