Winter is usually NOT the time to be enjoying water rides. Or, at least, many people prefer to stay far away.
While it doesn’t often get freezing cold in Orlando, it does still get chilly in the winter, and many families visiting theme parks don’t want to get soaking wet on a ride. This is why we weren’t totally surprised to see the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure line looking less popular recently, but we WERE surprised to see how long the ride’s Virtual Queue was available!
We checked on the Virtual Queue multiple times throughout the day, and it was open for HOURS in comparison to when it normally “sells” out in minutes, sometimes seconds. There’s a drop each day at 7 AM and 1 PM, but by the time we got into the park later in the day, virtual queue spots were still available. This RARELY happens — especially with rides as new as this one!
In fact, we saw very few people in the line at all, and the ones we did were usually wearing ponchos to protect themselves from the water. While we saw lots of people get off the ride soaking wet, no one really looked unhappy!
By 1 PM, the Virtual Queue was still open, and no, it wasn’t from the second drop — it was still open from the first at 7 AM!
In fact, we saw the Virtual Queue open all the way through 4:30 PM when we left the park. So, what does this mean for your vacation? Well, if it’s a cold and cloudy day in the park, it may be much easier for you to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure if you don’t mind getting wet.
