Hurricane Milton has come and gone through Disney World.
The powerful storm ripped through Florida, causing several businesses, hotels, and theme parks, including Disney World, to close. The four parks and Typhoon Lagoon closed on October 9th as the hurricane barreled through the area and on October 10th as crews worked to clean up the debris and damage. (Blizzard Beach remained closed due to planned refurbishment.) However, it wasn’t just the parks and water park that were closed for the hurricane, and while the four theme parks reopened on October 11th, some areas have remained closed.

Disney reopened the four theme parks, Disney Springs, and mini-golf locations on October 11th. However, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs, and Typhoon Lagoon remained closed.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs closed at 11AM on Wednesday, October 9th, ahead of the theme parks. At the time of the closure announcement for these resorts, Disney stated that they were likely to remain closed until Sunday, October 13th.
Now, as of Friday, October 11th at 4PM ET, Disney has confirmed that these lodging locations will reopen on October 13th. That means that cleanup efforts will likely be complete by that point, and guests will be able to once again stay in these accommodations.
Typhoon Lagoon water park remained closed on October 11th but reopened today, October 12th! Blizzard Beach remains closed for its scheduled refurbishment until November 4th. By October 13th, everything in Disney World will be reopened and back to operating normally.
In their message about the reopenings, Disney shared the sentiment that “Our hearts are with our fellow Floridians who were impacted by this storm.” We, too, hope for the best for all those who were affected by Hurricane Milton.
