Things are changing SO much in Disney World that it’s hard to keep up. We recently said goodbye to Genie+ (Disney’s skip-the-line service) and hello to Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass.
Even more changes are coming soon, too, with the addition of a Cars land and a villains land to Magic Kingdom, a Monsters, Inc. land and villains show in Hollywood Studios, and a land re-theme in Animal Kingdom. However, one big change is happening tomorrow on September 9th, and it’s happening to a popular ride in Magic Kingdom. So we wanted to remind you about this change so you’re not caught by surprise.
As we previously reported, TRON Lightcycle / Run will be getting rid of its virtual queue tomorrow, September 9th, and will switch to a standby line. That means if you want to ride it, you’ll need to either wait in the standby line or purchase the Lightning Lane Single Pass (it’s like a paid express pass). So you won’t have to get up at 7AM to try and get in the ride’s virtual queue and we wanted to make sure you knew that!
However, if you choose to wait in the standby line, we’ve got more updates. First, you won’t be able to ride TRON Lightcycle / Run during Early Theme Park Entry. Instead, you can try to rope-drop it, but let’s just say almost everyone will probably have that exact same idea. We expect that standby line to be pretty long in the morning, so it might be best to wait it out and see if it gets shorter later in the day. Otherwise, your best bet to skip the long lines might just be paying for the Lightning Lane Single Pass.
This could mean more traffic in Tomorrowland, too, as everyone heads over to the standby line, but hey, once they’re in the line, that might mean LESS crowds throughout the park, so bright side, RIGHT? But yeah, we just wanted to give you a heads up and a reminder that things are about to change with TRON Lightcycle / Run in Disney World.
Stay tuned to DFB for more.
