Being an Annual Passholder at Disney World allows you to go to the parks pretty much whenever you please!
While there are different block-out dates for different passes, being an Annual Passholder provides you with more flexibility to visit all four Disney World theme parks! There are even a few special perks that Annual Passholders receive, like free parking at the parks, as well as discounts on dining and merchandise, but we’re worried that one of these perks could be quietly going away.
When you are out and about in Disney World, you may notice Annual Passholder magnets on people’s cars. This is a free gift that Disney gives Annual Passholders throughout the year.
Designs change based on the time of year. Most recently, a Stitch magnet came out for V.I.Passholder days. For the Festival of the Arts in 2023, a special Figment magnet was released. Other recent designs include an Orange Bird, Dumbo, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Mickey and Minnie, and even a Hei-Hei magnet.
Many Annual Passholders do not live close to the parks — many don’t even live in Florida — and Disney knows this.
So Disney actually also mails out Annual Passholder magnets to the Passholders’ homes — this doesn’t happen with special releases you pick up in the parks, but in general Passholders get a package in the mail with magnets. too.
However, not everyone receives these magnets in the mail. Several members of the DFB have been Annual Passholders for the past few years and not received them, and our readers have reported the same to us through social media. What gives, Disney?
This has made us concerned that Disney is going to discontinue this practice. However, we have heard from readers who have received magnets in the mail as recently as June 2024. So, maybe we don’t have to be too worried.
The AP magnet pick-up spot is generally the Creations Shop in EPCOT. Annual Passholders simply scan their pass, show their ID, and receive their magnet.
While the pick-up process is easy (there can sometimes be a wait), some Annual Passholders say it’s not fair that you have to be in the parks to claim these special-issued magnets.
Out-of-state Annual Passholders cannot ask someone to pick up their magnet for them since they have to present themselves to scan their pass and verify that it is them with a photo ID.
While this can be frustrating for Annual Passholders who live out of state, Disney ended up mailing a Christmas gift to Passholders this past year.
Passholders received fun wrapping paper in the mail that featured characters that were on previous Annual Passholder magnets like Figment, Orange Bird, and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit!
If you have a valid annual pass and you’re not receiving this special mail from Disney, our best advice is to log into your Walt Disney World account and be sure you have the correct address saved! If you do and you really want a magnet, we suggest contacting Disney to ask how and when you might receive one in the mail.
We are hoping that a new magnet will be released when the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival starts next month! We will make sure to keep an eye out and update you when we get new information!

Oh boy, planning a Disney trip can be quite the adventure, and we totally get it! But fear not, dear friends, we compiled EVERYTHING you need (and the things to avoid!) to plan the ULTIMATE Disney vacation.
Whether you're a rookie or a seasoned pro, our insider tips and tricks will have you exploring the parks like never before. So come along with us, and get planning your most magical vacation ever!
Sometimes you need to call and request the magnet and the Xmas gift. I didn’t get mine so I called. They said I should have gotten it. Everyone should. You need to check the settings in your account. Mine was correct and I still didn’t get so when I called they sent it all right away.
What happened to the original type of magnets at Disney Parks shops? You know the ones. Not these new flat type. My family and I have always collected magnets on our past trips. Some are from Blizzard Beach or Typhon Lagoon. We thought the Pandemic stopped the sale of the magnets, but every time we visit WDW, the shops never have them. It’s always PINS, PINS, PINS. Bring back the magnets as memories of our trip. Another thing I couldn’t find was single post cards to send to friends back home. I don’t need to buy a PACK. I only want a few.
Another perk we enjoyed regularly before COVID was eating at quick service locations in the resorts. Geyser Point was a weekly favorite. Since the pandemic you can only access the resorts with a dining reservation or via Disney Transportation. Using transportation to have access adds time to go to a location which defeats the whole point of a spontaneous perk. Is there any chance you have information about the possibility that this might come back?
I have had an out of state AP since they restarted them after covid. I’ve never gotten a magnet in the mail. But my friends that have since joined have! I’m convinced someone is stealing them or it’s just hit or miss lol.
I’ve always gotten the annual magnet in the mail but my passholder friend who lives an hour away from me has never gotten one in the mail. I wish Disney would just post all the passholder magnets for the year and let you pay for them to send you the ones that you want when you renew or buy your pass (like buying a pre-arrival magic band for a resort stay).
I’ve only had an AP since December, but I haven’t received a magnet. I wish I had known to go to Creations Shop on our last trip – oh well, at least thanks to DFB I know to go there next time, and to be on the lookout for these!
The absolute BESTEST part of being an AP holder? Hmmm… My friends it has to be the simple convience of being able to go to any park when you want, while on vacation! It always happens. You’re having a relaxing resort day, you’re at the pool/quick-service/chilling in the room, and you get the urge to go. Where? Who cares! When? Now!
Picked up my Stitch magnet in June at Epcot. Received a new Mickey magnet in the mail shortly after as I had recently renewed my annual pass.
I didn’t get the wrapping paper and haven’t received a magnet in the mail since the before times. I live out of state so pay for the most expensive pass and have had one for at least 20 years. My address is correct in the system. I think that have just started giving extras to new pass holders.
Maybe this time my comment won’t keep disappearing…the gift wrapping paper was gold to a scrapbooking crafter!
As for the magnets-if they mail them, you won’t be in a shop full of merch to get the magnet and thus likely to buy some treasures for yourself, or lunch later on and fill their cash registers.
