Restaurants, Rides, and Restrooms Impacted by MULTIPLE Disneyland Resort Refurbishment Projects

There are some spots at Disneyland Resort that we keep coming back to again and again. Over at New Orleans Square, we love to stop by Tiana’s Palace for a beignet. And, naturally, we’ll hop on the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction while we’re in the area. It’s a must-do!

But every once in a while, our typical park walk through Disneyland looks a little different thanks to temporary closures and construction. If you’re planning a trip to Disneyland this summer, you may need to listen up! We’ve got some important news you need to hear.

Two BIG parts of Disneyland will be CLOSED this summer. Disney recently updated its website to reflect the upcoming closures, and we have the FULL details for you.

Let’s start with New Orleans Square. This section of the park will undergo a few important changes. First, the bridge connecting New Orleans Square with Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be temporarily closed starting on July 8th, 2024. You can access Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge via the Frontierland entrance during this time.

Nearby, Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion attraction is also undergoing a little refurbishment! Disney is working on a NEW queue experience, including an expansion of the outdoor queue! You can read more about the changes HERE!

Now, let’s talk about the Disneyland Railroad’s New Orleans Square Station. Disney explained, “Due to work in the area between Tiana’s Palace and the Haunted Mansion, the Disneyland Railroad station in New Orleans Square is unavailable for boarding and unloading, though the train will continue to operate.”

If you need to use the accessible entrance, you will be directed to use the stations at Mickey’s Toontown and Tomorrowland. Additionally, popcorn and churro carts may be temporarily relocated during the closure.

Over in Critter Country, there are some BIG changes coming soon. In fact, Critter Country temporarily closed back on May 1st. This section of the park will soon be home to the NEW Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction!

We’re still waiting on an opening date for this brand-new Disneyland attraction. But, if you want a preview of what to expect, you can see our FIRST LOOK at the Disney World version of the ride in Magic Kingdom.

The Briar Patch is also closed right now, and this area is set to be transformed into Ray’s Berets. Raise your hand if you’re excited about this new merchandise location! Click HERE to learn more about what this NEW shop will include.

Pooh Corner is also getting a little transformation — it’s set to become Louis’ Critter Club! Disney explained that when the location reopens, the treats side of Pooh Corner will still feature classic merchandise from Hundred Acre Wood, including those iconic Tigger tails.

Below, we’ve got a full list of the additional closures in Critter Country:

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: Due to its location, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is closed and will reopen with the land.
Hungry Bear Restaurant: This dining location will temporarily close for kitchen refurbishments beginning July 8th. The restrooms near Hungry Bear Restaurant will also be closed during this time.
Davey Crockett’s Explorer Canoes: Due to nearby construction, Davey Crockett’s Explorer Canoes will temporarily close beginning July 8th.
Critter Country Fruit Cart: This stand will temporarily close beginning July 8th.
