Have you heard the news? The BUZZ-worthy booth at this year’s EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival is serving up some new and returning items and you’ll want to stop by!
Of course we’re talking about The Honey Bee-Stro sponsored by The National Honey Board! This booth has become a staple at the festival and its menu features dishes and drinks made with Winne the Pooh’s favorite ingredient — HONEY! Let’s take a look!
Menu
Over at the Honey Bee-Stro you’ll find a returning dish along with some returning drinks and a new beer! The food items are both sweet and savory and maybe even unexpected! We checked out the food items and a couple of drinks this year.
Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself!
Eats
Our first dish is the returning Chicken and Waffles featuring crispy chicken and a honey sweet cornbread waffle topped with whipped honey butter and spicy honey. You can order this dish for $6.75. Last year this dish was one we enjoyed and even found a bit spicy.
Again, this was so, so good. The cornbread waffle is sweet and savory at the same time and reminds us a bit of a hushpuppy. It was a little dark so we thought it may be burnt, be it was perfectly cooked. The chicken is phenomenally done — the outside was crispy and crunchy while the inside stayed moist. The honey butter they melt over the top of it just ties everything together. We’ll probably be dreaming about this!
New to the menu this year is the Honey-glazed Cauliflower for $5. This is made with honey-roasted carrot purée, wild rice pilaf, spring vegetables, honey-blistered grapes, and sunflower brittle. You might be thinking “honey AND cauliflower…how does THAT work?” We’re gonna tell ya!
This is such a pretty plate of food — and a plate of food it was! There was so much here so in terms of value this one is already a win. It was so warm and hearty with all the cruciferous veggies and the sunflower brittle added an earthy, seediness to the overall dish that made it all work. The honey-roasted carrot purée was sweet and savory at the same time. Overall this was a hit.
And now to wet our whistle!
Drinks
The stand-out drink at this booth is the Honey-Peach Cobbler Freeze cocktail, which comes with blueberry vodka and streusel. This drink is $13. We couldn’t wait to check out this drink again this year!
For those who don’t like a strong alcoholic taste, you’ll appreciate this drink. You can barely taste the vodka itself but the blueberry flavor is there. In fact, we actually noticed the blueberry more than the peach! This beverage is fluffy, foamy, and creamy. As fruity as this is, the consistency is a little thick and some might find this to be too heavy on a hot park day.
Also returning to the Bee-Stro this year is the Florida Orange Groves Winery Orange Blossom Honey Wine for $6.50.
And finally, a new beer has landed at the Bee-Stro this year — Copperpoint Brewing Co. Bee’s Squeeze Blonde Ale for $5.75/6oz and $9.75/12oz. We loved this — it reminded us of a German Honey Kolsch. It was nice and light with a super faint honey flavor giving it just a bit of sweetness.
So, is it worth a visit?
OVERALL
Overall, the Honey Bee-Stro blew us away and just might be the Best Booth on our Best of the Fest list this year! The menu isn’t extensive, but we think that works in its favor because what they do, they do well over here. The chicken and waffle is what dreams are made of, and that cauliflower truly wowed us. Make sure you stop by to check out these eats when you’re at the fest!
