If the return of the Disney Dining Plan has you all giddy and eager to book your Disney World dining reservations, then we’ve got some even BIGGER news to share!

As 2024 draws nearer and we get even closer to seeing the Disney Dining Plan actively used in the parks and hotels once again, it appears that Disney is starting to spring up changes to the menus across the board to reflect compatibility. And now, we can confirm we have a HUGE update about a very popular option to maximize your dining credits!
It seems that Disney World may be making changes already in anticipation of the rollout of the Disney Dining Plan in 2024. If you’ve been keeping track of a popular dining package offering and if it will once again be compatible with the Disney Dining Plan, you may be in luck!

Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater
A quick check of the Disney World website now lists Disney Dining Plan compatibility with the Fantasmic! Dining Packages at several restaurants around Disney’s Hollywood Studios. However, we’ve noticed an interesting detail. Previously, when these were compatible in early 2020, all locations required 2 table-service dining credits to redeem the package, but now there are several package options that require only 1 table-service meal entitlement.

It appears that 50’s Prime Time Cafe, Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant, Mama Melrose’s Restaurant Italiano, and Hollywood & Vine Restaurant are all listed for requiring just one entitlement while the only compatible signature dining restaurant, The Hollywood Brown Derby Restaurant, will continue to require two for Fantasmic! dining packages.

Hollywood Brown Derby
We’re not sure if this will be updated again prior to the official rollout of the Disney Dining Plan but we’ll definitely be keeping an eye on it as that draws closer. Be sure to stay tuned with us at Disney Food Blog for the latest updates.
