REVIEW: Is This NEW Disney World Churro BOTH Delicious and Disappointing?

There is SO much to cover at this year’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and we’re here to see and do it ALL!

We’re coming to you live from the event all through the evening, and one of our main missions is to try all the party-exclusive snacks. It’s a big task, but we’re up for it, and we just tried a Hot Cocoa Churro that you need to know about!

You can find the Hot Cocoa Churro for $7 at the outdoor vending locations near Cinderella Castle. This churro is rolled in hot cocoa powder and topped with marshmallows and peppermint candy pieces. The best part? This snack is actually available during the party AND during regular park hours!

Now, as far as Disney World churros go (which we know aren’t quite as good as Disneyland churros for some reason), this one was surprisingly good! In fact, it’s one of the best we’ve tried. We loved the peppermint flavor, but know that it is pretty heavy on the peppermint. Somehow, those Disney chefs managed to make it really taste like peppermint hot cocoa!

That said, this thing is all rolled around in cocoa powder, so it’s a little dry. Plus, like many other Disney World churros, it’s hard and crunchy, not soft and chewy. Those mini marshmallows and sugary marshmallow drizzle were a nice addition, though.

It’s pretty festive!

If you consider yourself a hot cocoa lover and a peppermint person through and through, this might be for you! But honestly, this isn’t the best snack in Magic Kingdom — those hard, dry churros just can’t seem to get it together for us.

On the churro scale, we’ll rank this one pretty high, but on the overall Magic Kingdom snack scale, this one doesn’t come CLOSE to our old favorites. We’ll be trying all the holiday treats over the next few days, so stay tuned to DFB for all the latest reviews!
