So something REALLY fun was set up to happen at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.
We’re not referring to the Chip ‘n’ Dale Campfire Sing-A-Long, although that is a BLAST. We’re not even talking about the recent Golf Cart Halloween Parade that’s always a good time. Nope, we’re talking about a special scavenger hunt starring Bluey!
The Heeler Family Hide ‘N’ Seek scavenger hunt is the first event at Disney World to ever feature Bluey. The idea is that the Heeler family is on vacation at the Fort Wilderness Campground, and they are playing a game of hide ‘n’ seek. Bluey is asking visitors to follow clues so she can be crowned the “Hide ‘n’ Seek Winner” at their first Thanksgiving dinner.
The scavenger hunt recently kicked off, but several days later, we learned it was over — at least for now. We asked Cast Members, who told us that Bluey was hiding a little TOO well, although another said technical issues made Bluey go away. ? Disney hasn’t officially stated whether or not the scavenger hunt will return, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed!
The idea behind the scavenger hunt was that little cardboard cut-outs of Bluey were hiding all over the resort for guests to find. According to another Cast Member we spoke with, there was a QR code involved, and you needed to interact with your phone, but nothing was linking or syncing properly, so they had to end the hunt. Hopefully, Cast Members will be able to fix the bugs so this resort activity can return!
So, if you were hoping to find Bluey at Fort Wilderness, you’re out of luck — at least for now. The good news is there are SO many things to do at that resort, including The Wilderness Back Trail Adventure Segway Tour, horseback riding, boat rentals, fishing, archery, biking, canoeing, and more.
We’ll keep an eye on the situation and let you know if we get any updates, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
