Using Genie+ just got a little easier!
Disney has announced a number of updates to this paid service over the past few months. Its payment tiers are now different, and some big Genie+ changes are being planned for 2024. But now, one more feature has been altered.
To make sure you get access to this updated feature, check for an update to your My Disney Experience app in your mobile app store. Once you download and open the updated app, select the 3 horizontal lines on the bottom-right-hand side and navigate to the “Tip Board.”
That’s where you’ll be able to see a NEW helpful feature — an option to turn on a filter that will ONLY show you rides included in the Disney Genie+ service.
For comparison, here’s what it looks like without the filter toggled on in Magic Kingdom. The app shows Astro Orbiter at the top with its estimated wait time, but that ride does NOT offer a Lightning Lane through Genie+.
Once you toggle on the filter, Astro Orbiter will be hidden and instead The Barnstormer will come to the top since that ride does offer a Genie+ Lightning Lane.
It might be a small change but it’s one that can help you save time when scrolling through the attractions list and deciding where to make your next Genie+ selection.
The same change appears to have been made in the Disneyland app as well. But, again, be sure to download the app update in your mobile app store to get the latest version.

Stop altering things! Get rid of genie plus, LL, etc. Not interested! Wasting time and not willing to pay a dime more!
I updated my app, closed and reopened it after twice and Astro Orbiter is still at the top for me. Apparently some of us aren’t so lucky yet.
Never been a fan of Genie+ and never will be. This isn’t an advance planning tool by any stretch like fast passes use to be. As a 20+ year DVC member and seeing basically all benefits stripped and prices sky-rocket, DVC is basically a “room” and will use as such for other activities in Orlando.
Genie is horrible. Does not save time. It keeps your face in your phone and stressed out all day. Hate it. Bring back the old fast pass system. We let our annual pass expire and don’t plan to renew. Our next DVC trip will involve no Disney parks. We will be going to Disney springs, Sea world and universal.
