Orlando International Airport (MCO) recently shared it is expecting 1.75 million passengers to travel through the airport over the Thanksgiving holiday alone. You’ll definitely need to pack your patience if you’ll be passing through MCO over the next week or so — but did you know that there’s something else that could really come in handy during your travels? The Orlando Airport has an app that features a TON of helpful information, tips, and tricks — and we’re sharing some of our favorites.

Yep, and it features all sorts of helpful info that you might need to know before your next trip.

So, just what can this app do, exactly? Quite a bit — but let’s check out a few of the highlights.

Check Security Wait Times

Okay, this one is a bit of a game-changer for us. You can actually check the wait times at each of MCO’s TSA security checkpoints so you have an idea of how long you’ll be waiting in line. In fact, it’s smack dab in the middle of the home screen of the app. Not only that, but it breaks it down by gate with real-time updates.

This can really come in handy if you’re trying to find out how early you need to leave to head to the airport — but it’s always a good practice to get to the airport early to prepare!

Save Your Parking Location

Have you ever seen that Seinfeld episode where the gang is wandering around the mall parking lot for hours because they can’t find where they parked? Imagine having to deal with that after a long flight and travel day! No thank you. If you’re parking at MCO, you can use their handy-dandy parking map and parking spot locator to find your car.

You just have to remember to save your parking location before heading into the airport so the app knows where you’re located. Then, open the app back up and return to the parking information screen to see where your car is — it’s as easy as that.

See the Latest Airport Updates

Things are constantly changing and being updated at airports, and MCO is no different. You can view the latest airport updates and even see MCO’s most recent tweets right from the app. Need to know about WiFi info? You can check that in the app, as well as find updates on flights, security, customs, and more. The airport phone number is also listed at the top should you need to call and ask a question!

No more wondering if there will be any construction or potential mishaps that could impact your airport experience — you’ll have all the latest information about MCO happenings right in the app.

Locate Dining, Shopping, and Other Amenities

Need a snack? Want to find out where the Disney merch store is located at the airport? You can do that all and more using the “Where Is” section of the app. Every single retail store and restaurant is listed out, along with other spots you might need to know about like restrooms and vending machines. Not only that, but you can also search for what you’re after on the map too.

It’s organized by floor, wing, and more so you can easily find what you’re searching for — it’ll even use your location to tell you what’s around you if you’re just looking for a quick bite to eat!

Find Important Airport Information

Whether you need to find the lost and found, have questions about checking in, or ground transportation, you can find most of the answers to your questions in the Frequently Asked Questions section. Even if you’re looking for the most up-to-date information on COVID-19, you can find that in the FAQ!

When all else fails, you can search for your question in the search bar too, and if that doesn’t work — call the number listed on the app. Your holiday trip through MCO doesn’t have to be stressful — or at least not AS stressful — if you use the Orlando International Airport app!
