Disney has announced that FastPass, FastPass+, and MaxPass will be retired, and some NEW, PAID services will take their places at Disneyland and Disney World. This is MAJOR vacation-altering news and it’s a little confusing.
Not to worry, we’ve got your back with all the info you need to know!
Check out all this and more in our newest DFB Video!
Using Disney genie +, would that give you a photo pass for the day? Or is it if you paid for the photo pass you now get AR as a cherry on top?
Leah, my understanding is that Disney Genie users will be able to add AR lenses to the photos that appear in My Disney Experience, but they’ll still either need a PhotoPass package or to purchase photos individually to have access to them indefinitely.
Any idea when this system will start?
Kory, so far no start date from Disney.
Hello!
Do we know.if we can cancel the pay ahead rides if we want? Say we decide to jump in line for stand by after we already paid , can we change the attraction we want to pay for and use it for another ride?
Nicole, that’s a great question, and I’ve not heard the answer to this yet. I’ll drop it for the team, and we’ll find out when Individual Attraction Selections launch.
Do you have any idea if they plan on having a limited number of Lightning lane passes per hour for each ride? I’m worried that if I have to wait for my previous pass to finish before getting my next, the rides that usually have long lines, may be either gone for the day or have a late in the day time window of availability which means I’d have spent the money for two rides. We all know that often the available Fastpasses in the park, as the day went on were usually for things that didn’t have a long standby line. I’m just trying to figure out how this will work. Thanks
When does Disney genie plus start
Disney World is so disorganized that I question why any one would plan to go to WDW. Disney has had years to plan for the 50 year anniversary of WDW, yet there are still many venues still not completed and will not be open until 2022. There are few shows, no parades, little park entertainment, and at least 50% of the park staff has yet to be rehired. People should not waste their money by going to the Disney Parks. Disney management is focused on revenue and not customer service. The magic is gone!
Kris, no word from Disney on a start date yet. We will report as soon as it’s announced.
Robin, that’s a good question and one for which Disney has not provided an answer. We are likewise interested to see how it all works in practice, so when it launches we’ll report on our observations.
