Being a Disney Vacation Club Member comes with a lot of benefits, including discounts, access to Members-only lounges, exclusive merchandise, and much more. In order to access these benefits and discounts, however, simply being a DVC Member is not enough.

Members must acquire a Disney Vacation Club Membership Card to obtain access to those special benefits, and the minimum point requirement needed to qualify for these cards has just gone up.
Previously, Members needed to buy into a minimum of 125 Vacation Points in order to obtain Membership extras. Effective today, Disney Vacation Club Members must “accumulate a total of at least 150 Vacation Points purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc.” if they wish to obtain a Disney Vacation Club Membership Card, according to DVC’s recent website update.

Disney Vacation Club Memberships can be purchased at less than that amount, but as of today it would not automatically come with a valid Membership Card — if you want the card, you’ll now need to hit that 150 Vacation Point threshold.

The price of a 150 Vacation Point Membership will vary based on which Disney World Resort Hotel you choose to buy into as part of your contract. If you’re interested in joining DVC, be sure to keep this new bit of information in mind!

That threshold is only for new members, those that had previously qualified at lower points levels will still qualify.
Those this mean that current DVC members who bought the minimum 125 points originally need to buy 25 more points?
I wonder if there Are their any other perks or special perks for those guests who have a higher level of points like 500 ?
