As more people get vaccinated for COVID-19, we’re beginning to see the situation around the U.S. begin to change.

Flower and Garden MASK!
We’ve even started to see some changes at Disney World — not only did the company announce they’ll begin to phase out temperature checks at the parks, but it also changed its wording on its website suggesting that social distancing guidelines in the parks might also soon change.
The CDC has already relaxed its guidelines regarding the use of masks outdoors, and the organization recently suggested that fully vaccinated people could go without masks in most indoor and outdoor situations, too. During Disney’s quarterly earnings call for Q2 of their 2021 fiscal year, CEO Bob Chapek said that this was “big news” for Disney Parks and commented on how hot a mask can get in the Florida heat. He also made comments suggesting that Disney could change its mask guidelines soon.

Today, according to Click Orlando, a Disney spokesperson issued an official statement on the CDC’s new guidance on masks. The statement read: “Today’s guidance from the CDC allowing fully vaccinated individuals to remove masks and the removal of physical distancing requirements is extremely positive news and as soon as is practical we will implement updated guidelines across our businesses.”

Health and Safety Signs in Disney World
Currently, masks are still required for guests at Disney World over the age of 2, with the only exceptions being when guests are actively eating or drinking while stationary or while taking photos. This new statement seems to suggest that the policy could change soon, and if it does, we’ll be here to let you know!
