The website for Tokyo Disney Resort has been updated to notify guests that Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea will continue to remain temporarily closed.
This update follows the recent lifting of the global health crisis state of emergency for Japan nationwide.
The newest update notifies guests that — though the government’s state of emergency declaration has been lifted, Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea will temporarily remain closed.
It goes on to read: “The reopening of the Parks will be determined when external and internal conditions have been readied, including the phased easing of closure requests from the government and local municipalities, as well as preparations for Park operations. The reopening date will be announced once it has been decided.”
It’s also noted that the opening date for the Tokyo Disneyland major expansion “will be determined once the situation can be gauged after reopening both parks.”
In keeping up with the reopening of other parks in the area, reuters.com reports that Universal Studios Japan will reopen on June 8th, first to residents of the Osaka Prefecture followed by residents from nearby regions on June 19th.
The update from Tokyo Disneyland about the parks also follows the announcement that Ikspiari, the shopping and dining district at Tokyo Disney Resort, will be reopening today, June 1st. Walt Disney World Resort has recently reopened its own shopping and dining district — Disney Springs — ahead of the reopening of theme parks which will start on July 11th.
