Sometimes, when you’re in Magic Kingdom and you’ve had your fill of Dole Whip Floats (I know…sounds impossible), you just might be looking for something else refreshing, you know?
Well, just in case, here’s something to try! I’ve been eying the Non-Alcoholic Sangria at Tortuga Tavern for a loooong time, and since I was in the MK on a very warm day recently, I decided it was finally time to give it a go.
“So….non-alcoholic sangria?” you’re thinking, “What could that possibly be?” Well, I wasn’t sure, either. Is it some sort of “near-wine” with fruit in it?
I know, I agree — the name could use some work. “Punchless” Sangria? “Where’s the Rum” Sangria, maybe? Ah, well. It’s a work in progress. 🙂 But it sounded yum, so I took the plunge.
And I…really liked it!! Like, reeeeally liked it! With a taste of fresh fruit juice and Sprite mixed together, this was exactly perfect for a unexpectedly warm day in the crowded park. It was almost like party punch, actually.
The presentation, with the fresh fruit skewer, is top notch and really gives it a fun look.
I think kids will very much enjoy this unique drink. What kid wouldn’t think that this was pretty special if it was served to them? Of course, you might not share the drink’s name for fear their teacher back at school will hear all about how much they loved the sangria they had on vacation…
This was super fantastic and completely awesome stuff! I didn’t even miss the booze – it was that good!
And I think it’s a really creative alternative to serving alcohol in this (mostly) dry park.
Have you tried the non-alcoholic sangria at Tortuga Tavern? What did you think?
This looks fantastic, I can’t wait to try it! How long has this been on the menu??
Arianna — It’s been there for about a year, now, I’d say! 🙂
Its reviews like this ‘hidden’ foods/drinks in Disney that make me LOVE this site!
Looks great!! Do you think it had pineapple in it??
I don’t think the price point is all that bad either – considering it’s a mini portion of fruit. What a cool find, AJ! Will definitely try this in April!
Oh…I am SOOOO all over this! It is right up my alley! I don’t drink alcohol, but LOVE mocktails! Will be checking it out in November! Thanks for the great find, AJ!
Oooh, that looks lovely! I’m definitely trying that on my next trip!
I’m sorry to say this but the sangria has been taken off the menu. How do I know this…? Well I work there, and it was discontiuned due to low sales. Also we are closed until some time in March.
We made it with sangria mix, orange juice and water (and a little bit of sprite to top if off), and added blueberries, rasperies, lime, mandarian orange, and a cherry to it.
Anonymous — Oh NOOOOO!!! I JUST had it in December, but I guess I waited too long to try it, eh? Sad to see it go. 🙁
